Farm Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Foreman/Farm Manager to lead and oversee nut tree farming projects from inception through to successful completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a deep understanding of nut tree farming processes, and the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams. This role demands a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and motivate farm crews daily to maximize productivity and maintain a positive work environment.
- Read, interpret, and apply chemical and fertilizer mixing instructions accurately to ensure proper application and compliance with agricultural standards.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, allocating resources efficiently to meet deadlines and operational goals.
- Oversee all farm labor activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, labor laws, and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites and equipment, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions promptly.
- Train new and existing team members on operational procedures, safety standards, equipment use, and best farming practices.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of daily activities, including labor hours, materials used, equipment maintenance, and project milestones.
- Collaborate closely with senior management to provide progress updates, recommend improvements, and support strategic planning.
- Ensure all farm equipment is operated safely and maintained properly to prevent downtime and prolong machinery lifespan.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork across all levels of the farm operation.
Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in farming, preferably in nut tree cultivation, or a strong willingness and ability to learn quickly on the job.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Knowledge of agricultural chemicals, fertilizer application, and safety standards.
- Skilled in operating a variety of farm equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with farm management software or digital tools for record-keeping and scheduling.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Understanding of environmental sustainability practices in agriculture.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
